In view of the increasing number of sexual offenders and prisoners convicted of domestic violence, for effective management of the relevant resources and the intensive treatment system, since April 1, 2011 from the implementation of the sexual offenders compulsory treatment program, all sexual offenders must transfer to special prisons for therapy or counseling two and a half years before their parole or two and a half years before the completion of the sentence, and be provided necessary treatment or counseling education.
In order to effectively use medical care and financial and human resources to enable sexual offenders and prisoners convicted of domestic violence to successfully carry out community treatment, Chiayi prison has properly planned to apply individual/group therapy strategies, mandatory treatment and cognitive re-education for sexual offenders for preventing recidivism.
