To promote the physical and mental well-being of inmates, Chiayi Prison, under the Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, organized a Gomoku Competition this month as part of its recreational and cultural activities. Through intellectual challenges and strategic gameplay, the event provided a positive form of leisure that encouraged communication and interaction among inmates.

In addition to the “General Division,” a special “Elderly and Disabled Division” was established to show care for elderly and physically challenged inmates. This initiative aimed to stimulate cognitive abilities and promote mental engagement among those with limited mobility or advanced age.

The event was meticulously organized by the Education Section. During the competition, participants remained highly focused, demonstrating humility and sportsmanship. After each match, players exchanged handshakes, reflecting the event’s dual focus on both competition and educational value.
