To enhance the quality of meals for inmates and stimulate their appetite, our facility has invited Executive Chef Li Hongzhang from the Janfusun Prince Hotel to conduct the "Culinary Skills Training: Flavor Upgrade" course, designed specifically for inmates responsible for meal preparation. Through expert culinary guidance, the program aims not only to equip kitchen-assigned inmates with cooking skills to prepare visually appealing, aromatic, and delicious meals that enhance appetite but also to effectively reduce food waste.
Additionally, we have invited Dietitian Lai Yijun from Puzi Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare, to educate participants on the importance of a balanced diet.
Warden Tsai highly acknowledges the comprehensive nature of this course, which covers a diverse range of cooking techniques, including ingredient selection, seasoning skills, and food safety knowledge. He also encourages kitchen-assigned inmates to seize this opportunity, learn attentively, and actively engage in the lessons, thereby creating more employment opportunities for themselves upon release.
Chef Li Hongzhang has expressed his commitment to teaching inmates how to utilize fresh ingredients to create healthy and delicious meals, thereby improving the overall dietary quality for all inmates.
Furthermore, the program also emphasizes the importance of balanced nutrition. With professional guidance from the facility's appointed dietitian, meal plans are carefully designed to meet nutritional and hygiene standards, ensuring the inmates' well-being through a balanced and healthy diet.
This course is not just about learning culinary techniques—it serves as a platform for self-reformation and new opportunities. Through professional training and hands-on practice, participating inmates will acquire practical skills, paving the way for a new chapter in their lives.
